Expanded Camera Database for Locus Software
Harris Tech announces an update to its camera database for Locus software for Microsoft Windows. Locus is an advanced photo geometry calculator tool that helps photographers take better pictures. The camera database is the largest of its kind in the world and now includes the parameters for 1438 cameras. A free update is available at www.ht-locus.com for existing users.
EDWARDSBURG, MI, March 10, 2010 – Harris Tech today announces the expanded camera database for its Locus photography software—a powerful focus and photo geometry calculator for Microsoft Windows 7, Vista and XP. Locus helps a photographer decide which combination of camera, lens, aperture and shutter speed to use for that once-in-a-lifetime shot.
- Expanded Camera Database – Locus now includes the parameters for 1438 cameras in its camera database, making it the largest database of its kind in the world. If desired, users can add, remove or edit cameras in the database.
- New Image Sensor Types – To support new cameras in the database, new image sensor type specifications were added to the Locus program (version 1.0.5) and on-screen User Manual.
- Enhanced User Interface – Improvements were made to the Locus user interface including the addition of drop shadows to help set dropdown lists apart from forms and backgrounds.
- New Charity Focus – Since the introduction of Locus in 2007, Harris Tech has donated 10% of the profit from all Locus sales to charity. We regret that we no longer support the Feed The Children organization. Recent public events have cast a dark shadow over this once fine organization. In their place, we are extremely pleased to announce that we will support Life Outreach International. In addition to a long track record of excellent charity work around the world, Life Outreach Int'l makes their annual audit available for public inspection in order to maintain the highest possible standard of accountability. We laud them for this transparency.

About Harris Tech
Harris Technologies, Inc., was founded in 1988 to merge art and technology into innovative computer software. Our products are world leaders in their markets and each one began as a tool that we wrote for our own use to help us do the work that we love to do. We created Locus because we wanted to use it ourselves. Then we realized that other photographers would find it helpful as well.
